Bachelor
of Arts or Bachelor of Sciences or its equivalent in social
sciences or humanities. Alternatively,
a first degree in any subject, plus significant professional
experience in the mass media.
Undergraduate
GPA of at least 2.5/4.0
Good
command of the English language, as evidenced by
one of the following:
Minimum
TOEFL score of 213 Cambridge
or Michigan Proficiency Undergraduate
degree from an English-instruction institution
GRE
scores
Students
with excellent GPAs are exempt from this requirement (see
Department Chair for details)
Two
Letters of Recommendation from people in a position
to evaluate the student's academic performance and potential.
Letters of Recommendation from former or current employers
of the prospective student are also welcome.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Successful
completion of 36 credit hours. The total credit hours
must include all required courses
as specified in the curriculum. A final cumulative
GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 Compliance
with all University and departmental policies and procedures.
TIME LIMITATIONS
Full
time students are expected to complete the program within
18 months. Part-time
students are expected to complete degree requirements within
five years, unless extraordinary circumstances prelude the
completion. If such circumstances occur, the student must
petition for an extension of this time period. For further
information contact the Department Chair. Students
entering the program as full time, may change their student
status to part time, according to their needs and special
circumstances.
